About Us

Susan Sofer founded AUTONOMY·COMMUNITY·THERAPY A.C.T. INC. in 1998 to fill a gap in the area of driver safety and rehabilitation. ACT Inc. is the only authorized DriveABLE centre in Montreal.

Susan has over 20 years of experience in occupational therapy specializing in driver evaluation, retraining and vehicle modification. She is recognized as the first clinician in Quebec to become a certified driver rehabilitation specialist (CDRS). In addition to her extensive background treating people with a stroke, orthopaedic or rheumatologic conditions in a hospital setting, she is trained in the assessment and treatment of hand and wrist injuries.

Susan is also a part-time lecturer at the School of Physical and Occupational Therapy at McGill University.

With an in-depth background in research studies, Susan has co-authored numerous publications in the field of driving and occupational therapy.
